Getting There/Around
Flights
- Tampa and Orlando International airports service many flights from across the country daily. Each is approximately 45-60 minutes away by car. Uber costs approximately $60-80 one way.
Driving/In Town
- We would recommend renting a car while you are here to let you explore the area. Auberndale is a quiet little town with all the necessary amenities such as grocery stores, a post office, and some fast-food options as well as public tennis courts. There is also the Auberndale TECO trail only 3.5 miles away which offers walking/biking trails, ball fields, a playground and dog park. Lakeland is a quick 20-minute drive and has a growing downtown scene with wonderful restaurants and most of the big box stores. Disney Springs is only 25 minutes away and is a great location for shopping and restaurants. However, for real luxury shopping or outlet malls, head to Tampa or Orlando.
Weather
- The very best time to visit Florida is between December and May when temperatures are pleasantly warm and there are lots of outdoor activities available. Hurricane season runs from June to November, but the highest risk is really in August and September (during the worst of the heat and humidity).
